Co-production project with the Czech Theater Drak on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the breakup of Czechoslovakia.

Czechoslovakia broke apart 30 years ago. However, the dissolution of the common state did not mean the end of the closeness of the two nations; on the contrary. Upon crossing the state border, we do not feel like we are in a foreign country, and we gladly refer to Czechs as brothers. This heartfelt friendly relationship gave birth to an exceptional co-production performance in collaboration with the Drak Theater from Hradec Králové. On stage, Czech and Slovak actors will meet with the aim of creating a genuine and authentic, original Czechoslovak production. But where to begin? Who represents our specific national characters and how can they be unified into one whole? To assist us comes the valiant Jánošík for the Slovak side and the talkative Gašparko for the Czech side. The combination of two incompatible natures leads to experiences in the Slovak high mountains as well as in the romantic Czech groves. But where is the whole story heading? And does it meet the expectations and ideas of either side? The puppet and drama performance serves as a metaphor for living in one unit. Can we make compromises in the interest of common goals? But who are we actually? And how do we perceive others? And is there even such a thing as national character?
