Co-production project with the Czech Divadlo Drak on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the breakup of Czechoslovakia.

Czechoslovakia split 30 years ago. However, the dissolution of the common state did not mean the end of the closeness of the two nations; on the contrary. When crossing the state border, we do not feel like we are in a foreign land and we gladly refer to Czechs as brothers. From this warm friendly relationship, an exceptional co-production staging was born in collaboration with Divadlo Drak from Hradec Králové. Czech and Slovak actors will meet on stage with the aim of creating a true and genuine, original Czechoslovak production. But where to begin? Who represents our specific national characteristics and how can they be united into one whole? The valiant Jánošík comes to the rescue for the Slovak side and the story-telling Gašparko represents the Czech side. The combination of these two irreconcilable natures leads to experiences in the Slovak high mountains and in the romantic Czech groves. But where is the whole story headed? Does it meet the expectations and visions of either side? The puppetry and dramatized performance serves as a metaphor for living in one unit. Can we make compromises in the interest of common goals? But what are we, actually? And how do we perceive others? And is there even such a thing as national character?
