Description of the Performance

The brilliant comedy The Merry Wives of Windsor by the great William Shakespeare proves that a story from the time of Queen Elizabeth could easily be an episode from the present day - after all, there are still slackers, schemers, jealous people, and philanderers among us.

Chairman Falstaff selfishly decides to win the favor of two high-status ladies - Mrs. Page and Mrs. Ford. Mrs. Ford's husband is very jealous and addresses the situation with his own methods. However, the clever ladies of Windsor show everyone that even a high-status person cannot afford everything and the truth will eventually come to light.

Everything that the audience sees in the play can also happen today among us. Without unnecessary modernization of the story, some may recognize in Falstaff's actions the methods of current politicians, while others may realize that even though times change, humanity remains fundamentally the same.

The unusual historical costumes have a timeless appeal - they remind us of the period in which the play was written, yet they also exhibit clear contours of contemporary fashion, which refers to the relevance of the theme.
