The film Vtáčnik delves into the lives of the residents of a Bratislava neighborhood.

Fragments of local stories from the neighborhood aptly named Vtáčnik mix with the director Eva's childhood memories and reflections on bird communities. The perspective of the long-time resident director is complemented by the view of the birds. The research on the oldest living animal species on Earth thus elevates a local urban issue to a global philosophical level: What does our behavior, settlement, and coexistence say about the future of our species? Is it pragmatism or imagination that will help humanity survive on this planet?

A discussion with guests, including the film's director Eva Križková, will take place after the screening. The discussion will be moderated by Omar Mirza.
