Jirō Horikoshi has dreamed of flying since childhood, but because of his poor eyesight, he cannot become a pilot, so he decides to become an aircraft designer. The film follows his journey from childhood through education to working on the legendary machines that permanently influenced the history of aviation. Along the way, he experiences a deep yet painful relationship with the ill Nahoko and must come to terms with the fact that the beautiful airplanes he designs will be used in war. An intimate, poignant, and visually stunning film presents the life drama of a talented man torn between passion, love, and moral dilemmas.
