Stručná teória dawless elektroniky w. Isobutane

The lecture-discussion cycle will take a closer look at the electronic music production of ISOBUTANE. The lecture will be led by local DJ and music-technology enthusiast Viktor Drábek a.k.a. VKTRD.

We are excited to welcome another guest, ISOBUTANE – Michal Krajčír, a prominent figure in the local electronic music scene. In his work, he deliberately avoids computer production and relies on the authentic sounds of hardware electronic instruments from both the past and present. His sets are live, unpredictable, and always unique. He collaborates with the brand Polyend, which produces high-quality gear for music creation.

In the lecture, Isobutane will show us how to create electronic music without computers and DAW software – the so-called dawless approach. He will share how to get started and how to build a track that has a meaningful structure while still being playable live. He will present various creative methods, from sampling to synthesis, and touch on the basics of working with hardware "machines".

VIKTOR DRÁBEK a.k.a. VKTRD

DJ, producer, and promoter from Trnava, who regularly contributes to the local culture through club events. He has been involved in music production for fifteen years. He primarily plays from vinyl and prefers using analog machines. Professionally, he teaches DJing at a music school, is involved in video production, sound engineering, sound design, and in his personal life, he is a great enthusiast of various music media and technological gadgets.
