uncompromising intellectual duels in physical poetry. The production by the theater group Slzy Janka Borodáča – Outcast is based on the memoirs of S. Zweig – The World of Yesterday, in which Zweig conveys an image of old Europe and opens an important theme of pacifism that contemporary Europeans confront as well.

Actresses Gabriela Marcinková and Anna Jakab Rakovská create in the production a diary of contemporary European women through their personal stories, which intertwine with the period testimonies of Zweig. They open topics such as generational succession, clinical depression, coping with parenthood, the corruption of justice in the loss of a loved one, reflections on emigration, and more.

“We consider it important to pay attention to his thoughts and works, which name the characteristic circumstances that led a person to such a terrifying situation of losing human dignity and transforming morality. If a person or nation does not remember its past, it has no identity. This is precisely one of the goals of theatrically adapting and staging Zweig's message, in which we want to preserve his thoughts in the most intense physical-textual stage form and bring it closer to the audience.”
