Who among mortals would be so indifferent as not to approach the study of the human body with a peculiar desire? 

A theatrical vanitas of an animator and pathologist, who revives and simultaneously dissects the world of things and puppets. Entering the body always breaks a taboo, as it disrupts cosmic unity. Macrocosm and microcosm are paramount here. Absolute unpacking. In this “struggle” in the anatomy lab, carefully selected texts by Ján Jesenius, Jindřich Štyrský, Jaroslav Durych, and music by Václav Karl Holan Rovenský resonate. In the Dissection, we experience the PRIENIKY of visual installation and puppet theater.

Suitable for children aged 12 and older. We ask parents to respect the recommended age limit.

Robert Smolík

Scenographer, illustrator, creator of puppets and mechanical objects, performer, and artist-activist in his hometown of Jičín. He heads the scenography department at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theater in Prague. He has collaborated with theaters in Poland, Slovenia, Canada, and the Czech Republic. He has contributed to puppets for film and is also engaged in graphics and illustrations. He is involved in the preservation and cultural revitalization of Jičín's monuments. In 2018, Robert Smolík was nominated for the Czech Lion Award along with Henrich Boraros for the film Čertove brko. He is connected to the Bratislava Puppet Theater through the production of Snow White, for which he created the stage, puppets, and costumes.
