Silvia Havelková: O škriatkovi Mobiliakovi

Did you know that there is a little sprite associated with every mobile phone? It can be different - small, large, short, tall, fat, thin, with legs, with arms... But one thing remains the same – its task is to make you lose track of time while holding your mobile.

This modern cheerful production playfully shows children that a mobile is a good servant but a bad master. The grumpy sprite Mobiliak, hiding in the mobile phone, strives at all costs to gain all of the child's attention, isolating them from their parents and friends. Its goal is to completely dominate the main character and pull her out of the ordinary children's world.

The story clearly illustrates that we must not forget our loved ones and let ourselves be deceived by something/someone that offers us false promises, but in reality wants to manipulate us.

Despite the heavy theme, the production is entertaining and woven with original songs.

Research on the negative impacts of mobiles on children has confirmed that health risks can be defined as follows:

• screens emit blue light, which can cause insomnia, ultimately increasing the risks of obesity, diabetes, and depression;
• although mobiles can be excellent tools for learning, more and more schools perceive their negative impact, especially regarding children's lack of focus;
• children have access to inappropriate content via mobiles, which negatively affects their mental health;
• children are more exposed to cyberbullying, often socially isolate themselves, suffer from anxiety and depression, which can have fatal consequences;
• if time spent on games and videos is not monitored, and a child begins to neglect their real life in favor of the virtual one, it can signify a pathological addiction.

Despite the fact that technology brings many dangers, it remains important for society and can also have a positive impact on a child's development. It is essential to keep children's use of technology under control. A very significant role in the proper development of a child is played by the social environment and the variety of their activities, ideally meaningfully with parents.
