We are launching the season!
We are excited to introduce an interesting lineup for the opening of the autumn season: the founder of the exceptional project Taste for Life and a successful writer Valentína Sedileková, as well as electrical engineer, traveler, and renowned photographer Jan Tluka. In a friendly and informal setting, we will get to know their personal stories and experiences, engage in discussions, and seek common #intersections. We look forward to seeing you!
The event will traditionally be accompanied by the music of Erich Vladár, who will perform this time with the band Trenčianska kaviareň.
Intersections is an entertaining talk show that creates space for mutual acquaintance and coming together. The invited guests are exceptional people from the fields of culture, science, education, business, sports, and other areas of our lives.
Valentína Sedileková is the founder of the project Taste for Life, which helps people with eating disorders. Her personal experience with these conditions led her to establish it. Today, she manages the organization and also works as a peer consultant, providing individual and group support to clients. She is the author of the autobiographical book Taste for Life, in which she openly describes her struggle with anorexia and bulimia. Additionally, she has written a fantasy series called Blood Ties: Venile, White Raven, New Kin. She is currently studying psychology, actively raising awareness about eating disorders – and in her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog Chili :)
Jan Tluka was born in Prague but has lived and worked in Trenčín since 1979. By profession, he is an electrical engineer and has been intensively involved in photography since 1970 when he learned the basics of photographic techniques and composition as a member of a photography club in Slavičinec. He is currently a member of the creative group Méta and the Association of Visual Artists at the Trenčín Cultural Center. With an extraordinary perspective on ordinary things, he creates space for discovering new connections and meanings – uncovering hidden visual poetry full of metaphors, symbols, and signs. In addition to his own work, he also engages in lecturing and publishing activities in the field of photography and visual arts. He has been exhibiting his visual photographs since the mid-1980s and has realized more than 50 solo exhibition projects.
Trenčianska kaviareň is a music project that combines the world of jazz tradition from Blueberryband musicians with the unique energy of talented singer Matúš Oravec. Jazz improvisation with pulsating rhythms and colorful vocal lines – this is the atmosphere of their performances. They will perform with the lineup of Erich Vladár - keyboards, Martin Horný - guitar, Šimon Vladár - bass guitar, Dušan Rozemberg - drums, and Matúš Oravec - vocals.
Ivan Ježík is the co-author and moderator of Intersections and the podcast Conversations Choices. With the team Voices, he returned to his hometown of Trenčín, where for several years he has been preparing various cultural and educational activities. He cares about making this a good place to live and ensuring that young people want to return here.
