Meet more guests of Ivan Ježík!

A doctor, a paramedic, and pilot Michal Pečík, along with conservationist Erik Baláž, will join us. In a friendly and informal environment, we will discover their personal stories and experiences, engage in discussions, and seek common, perhaps unexpected, #intersections. The evening will traditionally be hosted by Erich Vladár. This time, he will invite Trent guitarist Martin Horný to the stage, with whom he shares a long-standing friendship and collaboration on several musical projects. We look forward to seeing you!

Intersections is an entertaining talk show that creates space for mutual understanding and connection. The invited guests are extraordinary individuals from the fields of culture, science, education, business, sports, and other spheres of our lives.

Michal Pečík works as a doctor in the ground and air rescue service. He often intervenes in time-critical situations. He is part of the documentary series STVR Emergency Line, which documents the real interventions of rescuers, firefighters, and police. His professional journey has not been straightforward – he started as a salesman and is now saving lives. Alongside medicine, he is engaged in sports, being an aerobatic pilot and a sports parachutist. Through social media and public appearances, he communicates medical topics to the general public in an accessible way. And as he himself says, this is his path to the stars.

Erik Baláž grew up in the Tatras and has spent a lot of time in the wild since he was sixteen. During his studies in forest ecology in Zvolen, he was active in campaigns by the Forest Conservation Group VLK, aimed at protecting natural forests and large predators. He played a key role in the successful campaign to protect the Tichá and Kôprová Valleys in the Tatras, where he contributed to securing a ban on logging. He is a co-founder of the Aevis association and the initiator of a conservation project in the Eastern Carpathians, which includes the film Wolf Mountains (2013). He has also contributed to other significant films on nature conservation, including Guardian of the Wild (2009), the three-part series Mysterious Carpathians (2017), and the latest four-part series Life in the Carpathians, the episode Winter of which won the Grand Prix award at the W. Puchalski International Nature Film Festival. He is a co-author of the book about bears The Last Fortress. In 2017, he received the White Crow Award for "exceptional perseverance and dedication to the mission of engaging people in nature conservation, the ability to cultivate a relationship with nature, and uniting different actors." In his work, he combines science, field experiences, and storytelling to highlight the importance of wilderness, responsibility, and sustainability.

Ivan Ježík is a co-author and host of Intersections and a lecturer for the project Peaceful Victories. With the Voices team, he has returned to his native Trenčín, where for several years he has been preparing various cultural and educational activities. He cares about making it a good place to live and encouraging young people to return here.

Martin Horný is a highly respected guitarist in the Trenčín music community. He is known for his long-standing involvement in music projects such as Trenčín Café and blueberryband, as well as guest appearances in other musical formations. His playing, rooted in the blues and jazz tradition, is inspired by the music of American jazz star Pat Metheny, as well as Slovak guitar wizard Andrej Šeban.
