Prechádzky mestom so sprievodcom: Veľká vojna a jej cintorín

4 October 2025
Saturday • 15:30
Trenčín - časť Kubrá
Vojenský cintorín Kubrá

The Great War, or World War I, caused much material damage, suffering, and loss of lives in Trenčín, even though the front did not pass directly through the city. Fighting took place with new or improved weapons - soldiers used weapons of mass destruction, combat gases, barbed wire barricades, tanks, and flamethrowers.

  • What was the opinion of Trenčín's politicians regarding the possibility of war just before its outbreak?
  • Do you know what caused the establishment of the cemetery in Kubrá?
  • Why are some graves oriented to the east?

This is a unique opportunity to visit the military cemetery in the Kubrá district, which is a national cultural monument.

Entry to the military area is limited to 100 persons over 15 years of age, registration and purchase of a ticket in advance is required. Registration can be done when purchasing a ticket physically at the KIC or online. For successful registration, it is necessary to provide your first name, surname, and ID card number.

Before entering the military area, a check of registered individuals will take place on the day of the Walk – you must have your ID card with you!
