Polaroid Transparency Collage

We invite you to a photo workshop prepared by Ema Lančaričová. Ema will introduce and demonstrate an experimental photographic technique called Polaroid Transparency Collage, which means we will be creating transparent Polaroid collages.

Collage is a popular and contemporary artistic approach in the field of modern photography. To make the Polaroid transparent, it needs to be stripped of its negative and remaining chemicals. We will literally work with the sensitive photographic layer.

At the beginning of the workshop, there will be a lecture on the history of Polaroid photography as well as a presentation of the possibilities for contemporary use of instant materials. After a visual demonstration of the technique, there will be plenty of materials and space prepared for your own experimentation and realization, of course under professional supervision.

First, you will either take your own Polaroid photographs or print them using the Polaroid Lab printer, and they will be developed in 15 minutes. We will use both black and white and color materials. Immediately after developing, we will start breaking down the Polaroid photograph and gradually work our way to the photo emulsion, which we will leave on the front plastic carrier. By overlapping multiple transparent Polaroids, we will create unique collages. As a result, you will take home unique, handmade prints.

All materials will be provided, so there is no need to bring anything.

The capacity is limited to 8 people, so please buy your ticket as soon as possible.
