O Gadže Bašaven

O Gadže Bašaven, or in translation "Non-Roma Play," is a group of non-Roma dedicated to Roma music and dance. The members gathered around a fire with cymbals, bass, guitar, and violins. They have degrees and doctorates on their shoulders, but they carry in their hearts the joy and vibrant Roma music. In addition to concert and entertainment activities, they bring Roma songs to young non-Roma children as part of the Aven Jekhetane project, promoting awareness of Roma culture in elementary and secondary schools. The singer Jouna (Júlia Kozáková) received the Radio_Head Award in 2022 in the World music category for the album Manuša.
