Five heroines we meet in the heart of New York's Manhattan have established their own business providing services of that kind. From practical performances to accounting and battling competition, they have been keeping their enterprise running for nearly half a century. It is true that their best years are behind them, but professional pride, love for their work, and challenging economic conditions push them to continue maintaining the business. Their boss, Madam Mae, is an independent woman; everything she has achieved, she has done on her own. She knows how to amusingly manipulate both men and women while caring for her girls. Ursula is assertive, domineering, and decisive, she recognizes rules, equal opportunities, career advancement, despises carelessness, thrives on proverbs with moral lessons, is usually right, and cannot understand why her good intentions go unappreciated. Vera is the youngest, enjoys good food, is loyal, sensitive and still a girl despite her age. Edna is an easygoing woman, somewhat vulgar, loves her job, and focuses on adventurous clientele. Time has been merciful to Lillian; younger men are turning their heads for her, she is confident, brave yet naive, elegant, noble with a French charm, a rose among Mae's girls. The production also includes a representative of the male generation, a young pianist - Professor Joe, who represents all men and communicates with our ladies, accompanying them in key moments at the intersection of life and death.

The idea to present this theatrical title came from producers Andrej Antonio Leca and Roberto Leca. “It is a rare opportunity to look into the most secret corners of the human soul through a somewhat risqué story. In this tale, the humor is so touching and the relationships so humorous that we joyfully walk with the characters of the play right up to their last moments of life... There are many ways in which each of us must grapple with life. Humanity and human decency are among the main pillars of this play. While the theme may lure into the realm of sensationalism, the story is dramatic enough and its treatment responsible and thorough, making it quite the opposite. Audiences certainly have something to look forward to. And let's face it, how many theatrical plays offer such prominent female acting personalities in equally significant roles together?”
