When the love for wealth is the greatest pleasure... This play from the era of Classicism still has a sharp satirical edge even after three centuries, sparing no miser. The City Theatre of Trenčín, in staging The Miser, returns to the times of Molière, when professional traveling theater companies moved across Europe, entertaining people wherever they went. Molière also traveled with such a company throughout France and did not spare anyone in his satires on contemporary society. Experience theater with us as in Molière's time! The main life motto of the miser Harpagon is clear: money and property above all else! However, when Harpagon discovers that one of his treasure chests is missing, true chaos ensues, comic situations arise, human characters are revealed, and the battle for money or love peaks...
