Historical comedy-drama that debates love and ownership, freedom and power, and the attempt to control the lives of others, themes that are highly relevant today. A fictional story set in the Renaissance period features famous and significant figures from history and art against the backdrop of a romantic relationship between a young playwright and the English queen. The play sees the strict world of politics come into conflict with free art. The adaptation, complemented by authentic Shakespearean texts, promises interesting moments and surprising “Gavran-esque” outcomes. The City Theatre of Trenčín participated in the international festival Gavranfest in Prague in 2019 with this production.
