Meshell Ndegeocello / Trnavský jazzyk & One Day Jazz Fest

Monday evening will feature a jazz mass. Bass guitarist, poet, three-time Grammy winner, and one of the founders of neo-soul, Meshell Ndegeocello, will come to Nádvorie to play material from her latest album No More Water: The Gospel of James Baldwin, for which she has received her most recent Grammy award. In her performance, she combines elements of funk, soul, jazz, hip-hop, reggae, and rock. Her concert will be full of introspection, strong emotions, and a deep experience of music and sound itself.

Before Meshell Ndegeocello's concert, Sisa Fehér will present her project mammatus. This young singer and multi-instrumentalist has showcased her talents in many styles and genres, from blues, funk, and swing to hip-hop, electronic music, and world music. Last year, she released the album mammatus, which addresses themes of a dystopian future through optimistic imagery. Musically, this album is somewhat more experimental and diverges from traditional jazz sounds, yet still carries a great dose of gentle melodies and playful lyrics. For the album mammatus, Sisa Fehér also received the Esprit award for the best Slovak jazz album of 2024.

Experience the 22nd edition of Trnavský Jazzyk. Over four summer evenings, you can look forward to a program full of international stars as well as the top of the local scene. In the shade of the plane trees at Nádvorie and on the stage in front of the Trnava Town Hall, you will be able to enjoy music from Meshell Ndegeocello, Alfredo Rodriguez, Sisa Fehér, and the reborn trio Talent Transport.
