Marta Wolowiec: TENS | tanečné sólo

We invite you to the dance solo by Marta Wolowiec, which explores the body as a source of energy. 

TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is a pain relief method that involves the use of mild electrical currents. Electrical impulses can reduce pain signals traveling to the spinal cord and brain, which can help alleviate pain and relax muscles. They can also stimulate the production of endorphins, which are the body’s natural pain-relieving substances.

Through sensations, vibrations, and intuition, a natural, fluid movement emerges, inviting the audience to slow down and tune in. The artist creates space for both herself and the audience to perceive, to be silent, and to connect. 

Marta Wolowiec

Choreographer, performer, and producer in the field of dance. Founder and president of the Gently Foundation (Fundacja Lagodnie). Participant in the ATLAS program at the ImpulsTanz festival in 2025 and former director of the Krakow Choreographic Center (2018 – 2023). In her artistic practice, she explores the theme of energy, progressive trance movement, and attentiveness in the relationship between the body, presence, and the audience. The magazine Teatr has presented her as an artist who is increasingly shaping her own choreographic language. She has participated in several international projects and residencies, including Crossroad – Inhabiting the World, iCoDaCo, and Culture Moves Europe.
