We invite you to a discussion with Tomáš Forró and Viera Dubačová, who will jointly take us on a journey into the heart of the Ukrainian conflict.

A journalist and a director - both have been closely connected to the events beyond our eastern borders for a long time.

Tomáš Forró is an independent reporter focusing on conflicts and crisis areas around the world. Tomáš works along the entire front line, in bombed cities, among soldiers in trenches, and with starving civilians reliant on humanitarian aid. He gradually transformed from a journalist into a humanitarian volunteer and later – into a direct participant in combat operations.

His new report book, which is being released by Absynt Publishing, brings previously unknown events and information that reveal the story of the Ukrainian war from a completely new perspective – unvarnished, without pathos and the myths that surround it.

Viera Dubačová is a Slovak puppeteer, director, cultural manager, activist, and regional politician. Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Viera Dubačová has repeatedly traveled to Ukraine to capture and document the horrors of war. She is currently preparing a feature film about women in war titled A Hand on the Heart. Through the main female character Irina, the film documents the situation in the war-torn country.

Along with Lucia Štasselová, who will moderate the discussion, she is actively engaged in the initiative Peace for Ukraine.

The discussion is organized by Absynt Publishing in collaboration with the organization Adra, which provides humanitarian aid to people threatened by various disasters.
