Katarína Máliková

Katarína Máliková is one of the most prominent talents on the Slovak music scene. Her debut album Pustvopol (Slnko records, 2016) received critical acclaim, nominations, and awards both in Slovakia and abroad, and is considered one of the most brilliant Slovak debuts of the past decade. Postalgia (Slnko records, 2019), her second studio album, transcends the boundaries of the world music genre and falls into the style of synth-pop with elements of classical music.  

Katarína Máliková has performed in 12 countries across Europe, her music has been played on radios worldwide (BBC6, KEXP), and she is currently performing solo, returning to her classical music roots. Brilliant piano arrangements in her interpretation accompany a vocal range that balances on often extreme positions of vocal registers. Minimalist piano and vocal improvisations are complemented by looping, layering vocals and piano sounds, creating dreamy soundscapes throughout her performance.
