Slovak comedy about female stubbornness that irreconcilably divides two close families.

This classic comedy by the DJGT patron and one of the most performed works by Tajovsky features unwritten "female law" formed by female quarrels, entanglements, gossip, and intrigues. A well-structured play with vivid characters offers directors and protagonists a rich space for playful and layered creations. An important pillar of the production is the author's economical language and dialogues with original speech twists, while Tajovsky's distinctive humor has taken on forms of contemporary comedy.

The main characters of Women's Law are Zuza Javorová and Mara Malecká. Their stubbornness sparks an unexpected conflict between their own families and children, who were already on the path to marriage. The village gossip Dora, driven by her own interests, stirs up turbulent emotions and dynamically spins the layout of the classic comedy, where common sense and faithful love undergo many unexpected tests.

Women's Law is among those titles in the DJGT repertoire that offers an innovative perspective on literary heritage in the region and thematically emphasizes the motto of the 73rd season, which is IDENTITY. The comedy has been staged on the Zvolen stage a total of three times: in 1950 directed by Karol Badáni, in 1964 directed by Ivan Petrovický, and in 1979 directed by Peter Jezného.
The production, which originally combines the modern with the traditional, was adapted and directed by the artistic director of DJGT, Peter Palik.
