Estrádna sála - Színházterem
The background of the formation of the Hugo Kauder Trio is the artists' effort to introduce the audience to the works of persecuted and unknown Jewish composers whose music fell into oblivion after World War II. The ensemble is named after Hugo Kauder, a Jewish composer who fled from the Nazis in the 1930s.
The three outstanding artists are preparing for a concert in Slovakia with an exceptional repertoire that will be performed on oboe, viola, and piano.
Members of the Hugo Kauder Trio:
Ivan Danko – oboe
Lakatos Róbert – viola
Ladislav Fančovič – piano
Behind the creation of the Hugo Kauder Trio lies the effort of the artists to bring closer the works of persecuted and unknown composers of Jewish heritage, whose music was unjustly forgotten after World War II. The naming of the ensemble was inspired by the artists' connection to the legacy of Jewish composer Hugo Kauder, who escaped Nazi persecution in the 1930s. However, they also have challenging pieces from the world repertoire that the artists can afford to interpret thanks to their exceptional technical brilliance and empathetic interplay. The Hugo Kauder Trio has been active on the music scene since 2008 and has released two CDs dedicated to the works of composers: H. Kauder, A. Klughardt, R. Kahn, P. Scharwenka, R. Schumann, P. Nogradi, I. Lachner, J. Irshai, and P. Juon. In 2014, the trio completed a concert tour in the USA.
During the concert, trios by Hugo Kauder, Ladislav Kupkovič, and original compositions will be performed.
Members of the quartet include: Ivan Danko – oboe, Róbert Lakatos – viola, and Ladislav Fančovič – piano
