When student energy combines with musical passion, GYMPELROCK is born  

Gympelrock – the Trenčín festival, organized mainly by high school students – is returning this year in a bigger, louder, and even more unforgettable style than ever before. You can expect an explosion of local bands, young talents, and many surprises. 

On September 26, 2025, KKC Hviezda will come alive in the name of a beloved student festival with a tradition spanning several decades. You can look forward to two stages featuring musicians and bands such as FVLCRVM, Marhule, Blanch, and Vojtík. Additionally, there will be interesting accompanying activities to pass the time while waiting for the next performance.

Gympelrock has over 30 years of tradition in Trenčín, but its operation had to be halted for several years due to the pandemic. Nevertheless, a few ambitious students from Gymnázium Ľudovíta Štúra in Trenčín teamed up with former organizers, and together they are striving to restore the festival's place in the city under the castle – and they are succeeding! 

“The main idea is to give a chance and space to both emerging or less known bands and musicians. The goal is to connect music, art, and people who love it,” says one of the organizers – and for this reason, this year's lineup has been crafted to combine some of the most well-known names in the Slovak scene with rising musicians. 

Gympelrock is an opportunity to experience an evening full of quality music, inspiring conversations, fun activities, and mainly to gather new experiences. Whether you want to see your favorite artist live, buy new records for your collection, listen to an interesting discussion, or simply spend a Friday somewhere, this festival is for us. Everyone is welcome – regardless of age, gender, or style. Gympelrock is for everyone!
