In the production titled Come with Us to Bethlehem, special folk instruments and homemade props were used to tell the story of the birth of Jesus, involving the children in the process. The basis of this was a Christmas concert during which the biblical verses were sung. “This sung object theater evolved from a previous concert where I narrate and sing the Bethlehem story. To enhance the atmosphere, I perform the production with a variety of Hungarian, Tibetan, Indonesian, and Native American folk instruments, such as a spinning top, goat horn, rattles, and bells. The interactivity of the performance is important, as the children enjoy being involved in certain scenes. After they have rocked the sleeping Jesus or participated as shepherds, they absorb and retain the message better,” he shares.
