There is a theory that we walk the world with a deficit of happiness. Perhaps we just need to replenish it a little. Just 0.5 per mille... This entertaining yet brutally honest Nordic tragicomedy speaks about loss and the search for joy in the everyday grayness of life. We will be held by excellent actors – men in the prime of their lives – Marián Miezga, Ady Hajdu, Braňo Deák, and Róbert Jakab. Experience an intense experiment that starts as an innocent game and ends with lasting consequences.

Four friends, four high school teachers find themselves at a crossroads in life. Burnout has caught them at their peak and led to the resignation of dreams and ambitions. Monotonous days drag on in an endless stereotype of duties. Taunts from students, occasional snarky comments at home, their own reflection in the mirror that they do not recognize. The status quo, which must inevitably break one day. An opportunity arises at the 40th birthday party of one of them, where they discover a bold and somewhat risky theory from a Norwegian philosopher. It claims that a person is born with a deficit of 0.5 per mille of alcohol in their blood. The solution is regular replenishment, which leads to higher self-confidence, creativity, drive, and satisfaction. In short, to everything that the quartet of faded men and dusty teachers long for. So why not try it on themselves?

Glasses are filled, the alcohol testers are buzzing, and the experiment is hopefully underway. It seems the theory works — life becomes more colorful, self-image is corrected, the crushing routine collapses. And what about increasing the dose? Would the results be even more dazzling? Can they reach the ignition point mentioned by the theory? And what if their joyous dancing suddenly turns into pathetic stumbling? When do they have drinking in their hands and when does alcohol have them?

The story is based on the script and theatrical adaptation by one of the most significant creators of Nordic cinema and drama, Thomas Vinterberg, director of the acclaimed works Celebration and Another Round. The film version of Another Round won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film in 2020, received several awards at the European Film Awards, and was watched by many viewers around the world.
