Tennessee Williams' family drama brings a poignant story about a mother and her two children.

In difficult social circumstances, son Tom takes on the financial responsibility for the entire family, working tirelessly in a shoe factory to provide for the household and allowing himself to dream freely at the cinema every night. Mother Amanda fights for a better life for her children than she had, often at the cost of fights, tension, and pressure. She decides that the only way to lift them out of poverty and secure a brighter future is through the marriage of her daughter Laura. This, however, is not so simple, as Laura lives in her own world, filled with small glass animals. Everyone expects a big change when Jim, a nice young man, comes to visit the Wingfields' home.

Family life with someone whom society perceives as "different" brings many humorous situations, a message about finding inner peace and freedom, and about dreams and hopes that often miss our lives.

One of the most famous titles in world drama offers actors great characters, and an extraordinary artistic and human experience for the audience, having come alive on the most prestigious stages around the world and on film screens, now also at the Arena Theatre. Its premiere took place on October 6, 2017.
