DIVADELNÝ SÚBOR STAŠKOVAN: „... a furt sa pije“

A theater play set in the village environment of Kysuce from 100 years ago.

The picturesque village of Staškov in Horné Kysuce and amateur theater simply belong together.

The beginnings of the theater date back to the 1920s when the Staškov amateur actors practiced in the home of Jozef Kroner, a significant Slovak actor whose father was also an amateur actor and a director.

In March, we will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of this exceptional person and phenomenal acting legend.

The play "... and they keep drinking" was produced by the DS Staškovan in collaboration with the Association of Jozef Kroner's Natives according to the script by Juliána Belková and directed by Vladimír Gajdošík, with the voice of Tomáš Hallon, the whisperer Katarína Koniarová, and the scene, lights, and sound by Ján Belko in 2022.

In the 1920s, an anti-alcohol agitator comes to the village and wants to establish an abstinence association. The local regulars do not like this and are contemplating how to get rid of the agitator. Their wives enter the scene, and unexpectedly, love comes to their aid. The innkeeper is overseeing everything, defending her own interests. Will the regulars succeed in their scheme, or will they become lifelong abstainers?

The Staškovan Theater Company was founded in 1922. Generations have continued the tradition of amateur theater for a century. Many actors have graced the theater stage and brought success and recognition to Staškov. It is our duty and joy to carry on the beauty of amateur theater.

The Association of Jozef Kroner's Natives was established in 2008. Its goal is to develop the spiritual heritage in the birthplace of the famous actor Jozef Kroner, with whom amateur theater is connected. It was in Staškov that he first stepped on stage as a little boy.
