KKC Hviezda
The .DAT event is taking place for the second time at KKC Hviezda in Trenčín in collaboration with SPFM on the Halloween date, October 31st.
While the first edition of the Day of Audiovisual Creation .DAT focused exclusively on digital culture, this year it moves forward. The headliner of the evening is the band Berlin Manson, who will present the premiere of their unique audiovisual concept prepared especially for .DAT. The visual elements of the KKC Hviezda spaces will be handled by light designer Sedemminút.
The evening will kick off with Boris Vitázek and his audiovisual work Narrative Absence. This A/V piece is made up of his debut release Amalgam and new material from his upcoming album. It provides a critical look at how corporate algorithms shape everyday narratives for people—their worldview and their place in it. A fictional past, tools that are no longer under the user's control, and a strong bass sound design will feature. Boris’s light and ambient installation will also be part of the mirrored hall, active throughout the night.
The unrestrained element on the electronic scene, Kodiki, will present a live act Your Excellence, which premiered in June. Kodiki has crafted a performance woven from everything he has experienced on the internet. He describes it as “a pre-stimulated kiss of melancholy on the cheek.” This project contains new tracks, unreleased material, unseen visuals, all accelerated. “A unique, new audiovisual show created with love for all those who are online, even when they go out.”
This year, the .DAT afterparty will be provided by the techno collective Nočná. Starting at midnight at KKC Hviezda, a trio of well-known DJs will perform: Nina Farrina is primarily known for her thoughtful, hypnotic techno sets. A native of Trenčín, she is considered the most successful Slovak techno DJ of the moment—regularly playing in Berlin and throughout Europe alongside world stars. A faster pace will be brought by SJ yellow, who specializes in hardgroove, breaks, trance, and 150+ BPM dance selection. The event will conclude with the creator of the .DAT program Matwe, who focuses on industrial techno, electro, breaks, and eclectic electronic music with a subliminal political message in his sets.
