Slzy Janka Borodáča: Outcast

Uncompromising mental duels in physical poetry. The staging of the theater group Tears of Janko Borodáč - Outcast is based on the memoirs of S. Zweig - The World of Yesterday, in which Zweig conveys an image of old Europe and also opens an important theme of pacifism, with which contemporary Europeans are confronted.

Actresses Gabriela Marcinková and Anna Jakab Rakovská create in the performance a diary of contemporary Europeans through their personal stories, which intertwine with the period's testimonies of Zweig. They open themes such as generational succession, clinical depression, coping with parenthood, the corruption of the judiciary in the loss of a loved one, reflections on emigration, and more.

“We consider it important to pay attention to his thoughts and works, which name the characteristic circumstances that led a person into such a horrifying situation of losing human dignity and transforming morality. If a person or a nation does not remember its past, it has no identity. This is precisely one of the goals of adapting and staging Zweig's message, with which we want to preserve his thoughts in the most intense physical-textual stage form and bring it closer to the audience.”
